Optical painting takes place within the eye, where separate elements interact visually rather than on the canvas. Heather Lowe's work has reached beyond the tenets of optical art to investigate natural phenomenon by abstract means. We cannot represent nature fully but we can describe ourselves as part of nature. Lowe has exhibited widely throughout Los Angeles and United States. Most recently her work was featured in North Carolina at the Ellington-White Gallery and this last summer she had a solo show in Monaco.
